Kathie Lucero

A Ringleader and general all around utility player, Kathie has been a involved with the Backhand Productions family since the beginning. Building her career in TV, Film and Digital Media, Kathie has developed a unique combination of creative and technical skills.

Kathie began in the live event, award show arena, including the Spirit Awards, LA Film Festival, and Disney’s Teacher Awards. For five seasons she worked on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition as the Family Producer where she perfected her people skills. Sprinkled in-between the live events and reality shows were projects that included actual fishing in the Persian Gulf and shooting 51 commercials in Walmart during business hours.

Over the last 4 years, Kathie has had the opportunity to spearheaded the launch of two digital studios. She built Machinima Studios from the ground up, collaborating with a team of video gamers to deliver over 250 hours of Talk Show content to Sony Vue/Playstation. Most recently she supported development and building of Fullscreen Studios where she hired and trained over 100 crew artists.  She has effectively figured out how to motivate a crew to ensure that all media thru production and post production are delivered and uploaded on time.  She’s now bac with the Backhand team to help run our productions.
